| This was a 3vs3 3 round game of CTF on Skidrow, Afghan and Derail against Gangster Squad Elite. Unfortunately we lost 2-0 to them, but it was better than loosing through a forfeit - I managed to talk their leader out of being a complete dick and give us a chance to play them. Round one was on Skidrow and Id saw we got off to a good start, I managed to claymore a corner pretty well and the enemies kept falling for it, and when the claymore didnt kill them, my Tar-21 did. Jaxxen and bwfc had the task of getting the enemy flag, which they managed on numerous occasions and we got pretty close but never actually captured any flags When the starting locations changed, I locked myself up in the nearby building and attempted to guard the flag as well as possible. At one point bwfc got their flag so close but we couldnt capture it because ours had gone missing.. Once i got killed and spawned miles away from our flag, the enemy team manged to get 2 men into my building and from there on we couldn't get near them. A disappointing loss but not much we could do about it due to their very good tactics. Round two on Afghan started really well, we didnt let them take our flag at all but again didnt manage to capture any. It felt like they had tac insertions all over the place next to our flag and they were often hiding in the rocks behind it. In the second half, I spotted a sneaky bugger running to a spot behind our flag (i didn't even know that spot existed until now) and got him just after he placed his tactical insertion = 2 free kills for Slow. I claymored up some paths and waited for them to come again, managing to get my UAV and shoot down a harrier aswell. Not quite sure what the other two were up to but I remember we did grab their flag a few times. Not much else to say, we didnt bother playing Round 3 as their was no point. Anyway, thanks guys for playing on such short notice and saving us from a forfeit. BTRSlowBurn__ | |

| Well to say the two matches were rough speaks nothing but the truth.
We thought it was going to be 4 vs 4 and created a quick strategy in a private lobby. When we joined the actual match lobby we found it was actually 3 vs 3. A different strategy needed to be discussed but we didn't have the time to do that. That coupled with everyone not being familiar with the CTF game play in general made it tough. The other clan might play that mode TONS, and we were kind of out of our element.
Slowburn is right though, playing them was better than the alternative. It was irritating as hell the way they had their flag locked down, especially on skidrow. The one building by the A DOM point is waaaaaaayyyy to easy to camp in and defend the entire surrounding area. 3 on 3 CTF doesn't work that good in general I don't think......that's about as good as 3 on 3 Domination. If we are going to play CTF clan matches I think much more practice is needed. Strategy forming in general, and in 3v3 all the way up to 6v6 tactics...because they are all a little bit different.
On Afghan I came within about 100 feet of getting their flag back to our base 3 or 4 times.....but oh well.
Good try guys, especially for an impromptu gathering. | |
